Best tarot cards for beginners

The Rider–Waite–Smith deck is the beginner standard — its imagery is the system every book, course and this site interprets against. Add the little white booklet, keep a journal, and you're set for months. Fancy artwork decks come after you know the meanings; a gorgeous but cryptic deck slows learning.
